

Project Case Study: Water-Cooled Screw Chiller Unit Resolves Concrete Temperature Control Challenges in CCCC Third Harbor Engineering’s Yuanhe Waterway Project
Recently, our company provided a customized complete temperature control solution featuring water-cooled screw chiller units for the Yuanhe Waterway Project Department of CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. We selected engineering concrete chillers to meet the on-site temperature control requirements for marine/waterway construction, serving the concrete pouring operations on-site. The project covered the entire end-to-end process: preliminary working condition survey, customized design, equipment manufacturing, on-site piping installation and connection, overall unit commissioning and trial operation, as well as handover training for operators. Every stage was seamlessly coordinated with the client’s project team, ensuring the 800kW industrial chiller was quickly deployed for site operations.
Waterway construction is an outdoor open-air project with complex site conditions; high temperatures, sunlight exposure, and windblown sand directly affect the quality of concrete pouring. Concrete temperature control is a critical key control point in waterway engineering. If a continuous supply of qualified low-temperature chilled water cannot be maintained, it can lead to uncontrolled hydration heat in concrete and an unstable curing process. This directly reduces the compliance rate of finished concrete and delays the overall construction schedule. To address this pain point, the project department selected our company's high-capacity water-cooled screw chiller unit. This high-flow industrial chiller unit continuously provides low-temperature cooling water for concrete mixing and pouring processes.
Based on the actual water load and environmental conditions of the project, our company configured a high-capacity water-cooled screw chiller unit—namely the 800kW industrial chiller used in this project—as the core equipment of the complete engineering concrete chiller system:

The unit operates stably and reliably, adapting to harsh jobsite working conditions. By continuously outputting low-temperature chilled water, it precisely controls the placement temperature of concrete, optimizes the concrete curing rate, and eliminates quality risks such as cracking and insufficient strength caused by high-temperature environments. This effectively enhances the compliance rate of finished concrete products and boosts on-site construction efficiency.
Since the equipment was put into operation on-site, the project department reported a highly significant improvement in concrete curing performance. The low-temperature cooling water delivered by the engineering concrete chiller effectively controls hydration heat. Relying on the stable output of the 800kW industrial chiller and the high-flow industrial chiller unit, the concrete molding quality reached the target standards, and construction efficiency improved noticeably. The entire set of water-cooled screw chiller equipment and our full-process service earned full recognition from the client.
